Tonight was Sophie's first ever dance recital.
She has been taking dance class at the YMCA for just over 3 months, and tonight they concluded the fall session with a small recital.

Lauren during her first dance. Tyler took this picture of his bud.
I wasn't sure how the evening would go because the past few weeks have found Sophie less interested during her class.A typical conversation after dance has gone something like this, "Sophie, how was dance? Did you listen to your teacher?" "No, I just sitted on the floor. I didn't dance."
But tonight she didn't just walk around or sit - I was a proud mama. Sophie did a fantastic job!
She danced her best and did an awesome job for being 2 (and one of the youngest in her class). She danced the whole tap dance.
I felt terrible. I let my little girl down. We had looked for shoes, but were unable to find them in her size. And, during class most girls didn't have them (they danced in their tights). Sadly tonight, that wasn't the case. Poor Soph was the only one, and, of course she noticed while on stage.
The girls, with their tu-tus, for the ballet dance.
Guess what we'll be looking for over the holiday break? Here is Sophie with most of her guests. Thanks to everyone (Greatsie, Grandma Sue, Auntie Connie, Uncle Randy, Auntie Kim, and favorite cousins Kate and Kris) that came to support our dancer!
One tired dancer with two very proud parents!

That picture of your mom and Sophie...wow! Amazing! Love it. And the video CRACKS me up. Wait until I show Henry! Way to go Sophie, can't wait to say we knew her way back when! :)
PS I totally owe you an email Sara. My email inbox is a disaster of school stuff for the kids, schedule stuff with J and L, sales from stores and random hodge podge blog stuff...and I'm trying to get it organized. I will write you back before the end of the weekend...PROMISE!
