I am finding it hard to believe that Christmas is three days away, and for our family the festivities begin in only two.
I was feeling very prepared for the holidays a few weeks ago, but a the day approaches, I feel less ready.
So, in the middle of wrapping, shopping list making, and cleaning I thought I would share some our pre-holiday information. A recap of what do before the holidays - a sort of "pre-cap" of the decorations and traditions that happen in our house to get ready to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Visitng Santa.
We don't actually go to visit him, he visits us (I am not a huge "santa" fan, but he appears at a family reunion that we have each year the weekend after Thanksgiving).
Decorating the house.
Some favorites include the nativity and our stockings. The house doesn't seem ready for Christmas without them.
Trimming the tree.
We love to decorate our tree while watching a christmasy movie. Sophie and Tyler both helped put on ornaments, and they love seeing which ones are theirs.
Macy's 8th Floor Auditorium Display.
This has been a newer tradition for us. Year two. We love to visit the city and enjoy the people, the beautiful display, and yummy lunch.
How does your family get ready for Christmas? What are some of your favorite traditions?

I love the picture of all the personalized ornaments. I would have to say my favorite traditions would be putting out the nativity set Steve's great grandfather made, trimming our tree and also doing the 8th floor of Macy's. I didn't go this year, but I try to continue the tradition my parents started when I was child.
