Jon, with the cake that we made for a celebration dinner (note the McDonalds "M" and the colors). On Tuesday, Jon had the surprise of his life. David announced at their weekly manager meeting that Jon was a "Ray Kroc Award Winner", an award named for the founder of McDonalds as we know it. He also received his notification from the selection committee outlining the trip that he (and his darling guest) will be taking at the beginning of March.
Words can't describe how incredibly proud the kids and I are of Jon.
When he was promoted to manager he set two goals: 1) to be manager of the year his first year 2) to be a Ray Kroc winner in his second. He accomplished both, and in the timeframe he set. He has grown as a manager and a businessman, but more importantly, he has grown as a person, a father, and a husband. Jon has now set another goal for himself, always working to be his best.
It has been a wonderful journey, although not without challenges. However, those challenges have made us stronger. I am excited to see how the rest of this journey will unfold.
