SURPRISE!

For years Jon and I have struggled when it came to getting gifts for my in-laws. They live hours away and we aren't usually able to celebrate with them on their special days, so we typically choose the best mailed item - cards and pictures.

A few months ago Jon and I were talking about his parents birthdays, since this year they would be 60. What could we do that would be exciting; show them how much we really do appreciate them? Jon mentioned that it would be nice to get everyone (meaning his brother, nephew, and sister) home. It would be a great present. Well, with that, the wheels starting turning, and the plan was formulated.

Jon spoke to his siblings to set up dates. I arranged transportation, shopped, cleaned, decorated, and baked. And....the pieces came together wonderfully....

SURPRISE!

We surprised Frank and Wendy with an intimate birthday party (which was between their birthdays - hers was September, his is December). It was a wonderful evening, and we're so glad that we were finally able to celebrate together.

Happy 60th Birthdays, Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Frank! We love you!
