Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved our pumpkins. Surprisingly, Jon and I had never carved pumpkins together. I used to carve one each year at work with the other ladies in our office. Tyler's first Halloween one of our friend's and her daughter carved them with Tyler and me. And, for the past two years we haven't carved them at all (both kids were too small to be very interested, and honestly, it wasn't high on my priority list).

Anyway, we started the project right after dinner. Tyler picked the shapes for his pumpkin's face, and Jon helped him carve.

Sophie was not in the mood to join the crazy carving (she was not feeling well, and was very cranky). We stopped after we had the pumpkins cleaned out, so that the children could take a bath, and Sophie could go to bed.

After Soph was snuggled in, Tyler and Jon finished the Jack-o-lanterns. And, of course we had to find the candles, put the pumpkins outside, take pictures, and enjoy the new decorations on the front step.

On a side note, right after I took Tyler's picture with his Jack-o-lantern, he told me to put his picture on the blog. He is too funny! He just loves to see himself on here...
